Commander John Ingrassia joined the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department in 1990.  He serves the Detention Services Bureau and his command area includes the San Diego Central Jail, Las Colinas Detention Facility, Vista Detention Facility, and Inmate Processing Division.

Ingrassia has served his entire law enforcement career with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.  He served as Facility Commander of various detention facilities, managed the department’s Jail Population Management Unit, Detentions Training Unit, and Detentions Support Division. 

Commander Ingrassia holds a Master's degree in Management from University of Redlands and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from San Diego State University.
