Asst. Sheriff Kim Quaco
ASSISTANT SHERIFF KIM QUACO

Assistant Sheriff Quaco joined the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department in 1978.  In 2008, he was appointed Assistant Sheriff of the Court Services Bureau which includes security for the San Diego County courthouses, Civil Processing Division, Field Warrant Operations, and Prisoner Transportation Detail.

As a Deputy Sheriff, Quaco was assigned to detentions, patrol, and administration. 

As a Sergeant, Quaco was assigned to the Communications Center, patrol, traffic, personnel, crime prevention, and D.A.R.E..

As a Lieutenant, Quaco was assigned to detentions and patrol.

In 2002, Quaco was promoted to Captain, assigned to the San Marcos Station. 

In 2005, he was promoted to Commander and was assigned to the Law Enforcement Services Bureau. He served the Vista and San Marcos stations, Fallbrook and Valley Center substations, Crime Lab, Licensing and Special Investigations divisions.

Assistant Sheriff Quaco received a Master's degree in Public Administration from National University in 1989.  He started his law enforcement career immediately after receiving a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Indiana University.
