During the morning hours of December 18, 2005, deputies from the Vista Sheriff's Station responded to the area of Sycamore and
La Mirada in Vista of a report of 10 to 12 gunshots being heard. While en route to the call, deputies received an additional broadcast that the
Vista Fire Department was responding for for an Assault with a Deadly Weapon call.
Sheriff's deputies arrived at the nearby address and were directed to an area in the parking lot where they found a male and female lying on the ground.
Deputies and Paramedics assessed the victims for injuries and discovered no signs of life. Paramedics pronounced both victims deceased at the scene.
